In the field of dry ice manufacturing machines, "cavity" is a core concept, which specifically refers to the key component that compresses and shapes liquid or snowflake shaped carbon dioxide into solid dry ice particles or strips. The design, structure, and function of the dry ice machine cavity directly determine the yield, density, shape, and purity of dry ice.

The core function of dry ice machine cavity

Compress and extrude snowflake shaped carbon dioxide powder into shape. Its basic structure usually includes a compression cylinder (or compression chamber) and a piston (or plunger) that cooperates with it. Liquid carbon dioxide enters the chamber through a pipeline, and some of it vaporizes instantly to absorb heat, causing the other part to solidify into a snowflake like solid. Subsequently, the piston undergoes reciprocating motion driven by hydraulic or mechanical force, exerting immense pressure on the snowflake shaped dry ice, forcing it to pass through the forming mold at the front end, thereby forming high-density strip or granular dry ice.

For example, it conducted an uninterrupted overload test on the HP-1000plus dry ice granulator for up to 300 hours. The equipment's production capacity remained stable at around 1060 kg/hour, the fuel tank temperature was maintained at around 40 ℃, the dry ice conversion rate reached 2.2:1 (i.e. 1 ton of dry ice was produced for every 2.2 tons of liquid CO2), and the quality of the produced dry ice was excellent.
